Ophelia Broulliard’s life has always been linked to the wealthy and powerful DuChamps family. The granddaughter of the family’s housekeeper, she’s worshipped Vincent DuChamps from afar--the ever unattainable prince in her fairy tale dreams. Little does she know that Vincent harbors his own secret feelings for her, but other darker secrets that he sees as an insurmountable obstacle to ever being the man she deserves, have prompted him to avoid her altogether.

When Thomas, the family patriarch dies, his will bears some unpleasant surprises for them both. Thomas wants nothing more than for Vincent and his siblings to be happy, and in his final act as the only father figure they’ve ever had, engineers a series of contingencies in his will that require them each to face their demons. Only too aware of what Vincent really feels for Ophelia, Thomas creates a situation that will force Vincent to confront his feelings. Unless, Vincent and Ophelia marry, Vincent and his siblings will lose everything, including the family business.

Forced into such close proximity, denying their attraction for one another becomes impossible. But even as they grow closer, other threats to the future of DuChamps Hotels and all that Vincent holds dear threaten to destroy their burgeoning relationship. Ophelia has played it safe her whole life. Taking a risk on Vincent is a frightening prospect. Will it be worth it, or will his secrets break both their hearts?

My Review:
A great start to a new series that includes some light BDSM elements that only add to its appeal. It’s touching, romantic, exciting, sensual and even a bit…magical. A great escape for any fans of the genre to enjoy :)

Opelia has known the DuChamps for a very long time and has had the hots for Vincent for just as long. Knowing it’ll never happen because they’re from two completely different worlds. She chose never to approach him with her feelings. But right now fate and Thomas have different ideas and there’s no stopping either one!

Vincent DuChamps is a wealthy, successful and handsome many that holds deep secrets. Secrets that have scarred him deep. Knowing the choice that must be made to save his family’s business both is and is not torture. He knows Thomas always liked to meddle. But always did so within reasoning and with good intentions. Now he’s thinking he may have went a bit over board with it and is REALLY testing Vincent’s control.

Been Loving You Too Long is a great story that leaves you wanting more in the very best of ways. I look forward to the next in the series. I hope it’s not too long of a wait!

Our story started in 'Double Plush Velvet', with Bren Plush, a full figured, beautiful young woman. Her insecurities haunted her since she was a girl. All of her life she watched her mama grab what she wanted in life, always confident, always brash. She finally went after the cowboy of her dreams.
Then, in 'Hot Blue Velvet' we went on a wild ride with Kanda Kincade, a tough, full figured cowgirl who knows what she wants.
Today, on our Kindles? We all get to visit South Texas again.
In 'Crushed Velvet', a few hot men may be easy to get but hard to hold. We will get lost in a world where the women are curvaceously courageous while giving us accomplishments to cheer for.
Hang on for a sexy, velvet ride…

My Review:
Leanore wrote us another sexy, fun, playful, funny. Original and addictive addition to the Velvet series. A definite MUST read for all fans of the genre.

Bren and Trevor have grown much closer in this portion of the series. They both continue to learn about one another and are falling deeper and deeper as time goes by (I adore these two!) Bren finds out something rather…shocking and is actually rather happy about it. So far she has the hunky Trevor by her side through thick and thin. I believe that helps her out a lot!

Kanda is exploring another aspect of life. A rather tasty, exciting, erotic and memorable one with a very hot Aussie cowboy (he he). She’s learned a lot in the short time she’s known him and is more than ready, willing and able to continue on this “learning’ path.

We also get some more background on ma dukes (Daisy) and why she is so…skittish. Let me just say. OH MY!

I look forward to what’s to come next in the series. I’m itching to know how everyone ends up. I’m rooting for all happy!!!

Lanie Heron isn’t looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club...

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn’t regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

My Review:
I LOVE me some tattooed biker hotties and Fire Inside sure has them! I found myself unable to put my kindle down for very long at all. I lost a bunch of sleep too! Put it this way… I read it in 10 hours. There’s so much within these pages. Excitement, fun, love, friendship, family, sadness, happiness and the very best part… An amazing couple! A definite MUST read for any fans of the genre.

Lanie has been in her own head for over 7 years and with very good reason. Losing your fiancé, violently, using your own body to try and save him and coming close to death. AND having your best friend almost die in the process is a lot for one person to handle. Luckily she has Chaos. A loving, amazing and caring family of MC members that have taken her under their wing.  Lanie has even more than what everyone is aware of keeping her from opening her heart…

Hop has his own story. Not nearly as traumatic as Lanie’s. But it still has left him internally scarred. Being screwed in the most unpleasant way and from the mother of your children (a real bitch at that), did this hot, huge hearted man some harm for any future relationships. So the night he finds the one woman he’s always admired from a distance, but is not his flavor. Moving towards him with a sole purpose set upon her face. He finds himself in a bit of a…situation. One he actually does not mind being in.

A lot of up’s and down’s with these two. Luckily more up’s than down’s. They are an amazing pair and I enjoyed every minute of getting to know them. I look forward to more of this series and by this author in the very near future :)

They met by chance, and fell in love. But is it meant to be forever?
Callie and Justin are living their fairytale. They are so close to having the family they’ve always when suddenly Callie finds herself fighting the insecurities that she’s been feeling all of her life. This time, the results could be deadly. Can Justin help heal her pain or will the stress drive them apart? Jay and Jane are trying to plan their future as they face the challenge of Tyler’s fight for the child he’s never known. Jolene becomes the pawn in a dangerous game until a tragic twist of fate forces Jane to finally confront the man she once loved.
Their fates are set, their lives intertwined and their happiness in jeopardy. Can they all finally find their happily ever after?

My Review:
An excellent continuation from where Life by Design (Design #2) left off. It continues to be fun, refreshing, funny, romantic, exciting and even surprising! A definite must read for any fans of the genre. PLEASE be sure to read the first 2 books of the series before picking up this one so you get the full effect of the changes each character goes through. You won’t regret it!

We have Justin and Callie. They’ve been together for some time now and are still going just as strongly as they were from the start. They now have an exciting addition to their lives and even more to celebrate!
Jane, Jay and Jolene continue to grow in strength as a family. A very happy one that I truly grew to adore. They go through many changes and a few ‘bumps’. But it only brought them closer together.

All of the characters in the story are amazing. I love them all!!! Forever by Design is a very satisfying read. Actually the entire series is altogether very satisfying. I’m sad to see it come to its end. But VERY happy to have gotten to experience it. Great job Elizabeth!

Review A Broken Man by Brooklyn Wilde

Can passion heal a broken man?

Ethan Hendrix never needed anyone. But when a car accident leaves him wheelchair-bound, Ethan has nowhere to turn. Ethan’s terrified he may never walk again, much less run the business he worked so hard to build. Angry, alone, and afraid of being forced into a long-term care facility, Ethan reaches out to an unlikely source for help.

Physical therapist Sarah Portman has no patience for self-pity. So when Ethan asks Sarah to move in and be his caretaker, she thinks he’s lost his mind. But Ethan is desperate. In such close quarters, Sarah isn’t sure she can fight the intense sexual connection between them. Can Sarah help Ethan overcome his physical disability or will she be overcome by physical attraction?

My Review:

This is my second time reading any of Brooklyn Wilde’s work and I have to say, she writes some very intense, touching and emotional stories with a perfect amount of spice to heat things up. A great read for any fans of the genre!

Ethan has experienced a very traumatic and physically damaging accident that has caused him to have to make many drastic changes in his life. He starts off as a bitter man, angry and feeling deeply sorry for himself. But that all begins to change from the first time he meets his physical therapist, Sarah.

Sarah has a lot of experience with helping those in need of physical rehabilitation. She’s always very professional and hopes to continue that way throughout her career. She has dreams and plans to have her very own business in the future. But those all seem so far away and some things majorly change once she meets the stubborn Ethan.

I loved all of the characters in the story. The story itself was deeply touching. I just have one complaint. The ending!!!! I wanted more. It built up so nicely and then it seemed like, BAM! Done. Is there going to be another book in addition to A Broken Man? I would love to see how this all progresses J

Blurb/Book Description:

Turning her back on a life she can no longer deal with, Clair Davidson has been on the streets for six months wandering aimlessly from town to town. But when a hitchhiked car ride lands her back in a familiar town, and a terrifying encounter puts her in the arms of someone too good to be true, Clair almost starts to feel like she could belong somewhere again. Almost.

Alexander Frazier knew what it felt like to live on the streets, up until he received a helping hand from a stranger. After saving Clair from a vicious attack, it’s not long before he realizes she’s a lot like he used to be—lost. Alex soon learns he will risk everything to keep her safe and get her life back on track… even if it means his heart.

But fresh starts are new to Clair and not something she’s certain she’s ready for. Clair’s had her share of people walking out of her life and she doesn’t trust her heart in Alex’s hands. Can his love give her the second chance she never saw coming?

Excerpt

Alex walked around and opened Clair’s door, helping her out as she jumped down. He followed her as she walked to the far end of the yard and sat in the grass. Lying back, she looked up toward the black sky. Alex laughed as he looked down at her.  “You know, if you’re that tired, I can get my blanket out of the car for you.”
Clair gave a small smile, tapping the grass beside her with her hand. “I miss it, ya know?”
“Miss what?” he asked, sitting beside her.
“I don’t know, the quietness, the stars. It’s just different. I know, it sounds stupid… it’s just, I’ve been on my own for so long without anyone caring. It’s a little overwhelming having someone care about me now; especially when they hardly know me. Everything Roz has done, I mean, who even does that?”
Alex watched her. She was so animated when she talked. Her face lit up with expressions, her hands waved through the air as if she needed them to help her communicate.  Everything was light and easy going until dinner was over. Since the drive home, Clair seemed sad, but Alex let her ramble, venting whatever was bottled up inside her.
“And you,” she said, looking over at Alex, “if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here.” Clair sat up, crossing her legs up under her. “And this date—I mean, this hanging out we did tonight. It was the best night I’ve had since I left home. Thank you for that.” She picked blades of grass with her fingers, tearing them into tiny pieces. “You didn’t have to take me out, but you did it anyway.”
His eyes traveled up her arms to her neck. Her skin looked so fair and soft under the moonlight, it made him want to run his hands over it.  “You don’t have to thank me. I wanted to take you out tonight. I’m happy you said yes. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been out on date.” Yes, a date. He didn’t want to just “hang out”; no, he wanted to know everything about her. To hold her hand, touch her skin, and taste her lips. But would she want the same things as he? He still didn’t know.
“Oh, and this,” she said, holding the charm out from around her neck, “you shouldn’t have bought me this. But I do love it. Thank you.”
Alex leaned forward, taking the charm between his fingers. “I’m glad I saw you looking at it. It looks perfect on you.” He laid the charm down against her chest. Lightly, he traced his fingers up the side of her neck, her hair cupped around her face. Alex stared straight into her eyes, dark under the night’s sky. Her lips parted slightly and Alex could feel her breath quicken on his skin. He wanted nothing more than to feel her lips on his. He slipped his hand further up Clair’s neck and heard her breath catch as if she’d stopped breathing. With his face only inches away from her mouth, he whispered, “If you don’t want me to kiss you right now, you’d better tell me.”

Jane Carter’s life had never been easy. Leaving her parents behind only to be abandoned pregnant by the one man she thought she could depend on, she had a sense that things just weren’t going to be easy for her or her precious daughter Jolene. She’s so skeptical about life, she thinks she’s dreaming when she catches the eye of handsome, successful architect Jay Anderson. Will Jay be willing to accept her and her child or will she be forced to return to a past that just won’t go away. Falling in love is easy. Life is hard. Has life finally designed the happy ending she’s always dreamed of?

My Review:
Not the direction I thought Elizabeth was going to go, but just as great, no make that even better of a read as the first in the series. Very touching, fun, exciting and romantic. A definite must read for all fans of the genre!

Justin and Callie take the biggest step of their lives in Life by Design & what an amazing and beautiful step it is! I ADORE these two together and continue to love their chemistry and soul deep love for one another.

Jane is still working with/for Carrie and Jay as she was at in Love by Design. She’s also Carrie’s very best friend and now becoming even closer to Jay (LOVE him!) Can two people that work together as closely as they do have any other type of relationship other than a business friendship? You’re going to have to read it to find out ;)

I love the fact that I was taken by surprise with this story. I do so love surprises. Especially from such amazing and loveable characters such as Callie Jane, Justin and Jay. I cannot wait to see where Elizabeth goes next!

Callie Brandon wasn't looking for love; it always ended up at the feet of someone else. But when a sexy architect sets his determined, baby blue eyes on her, she starts to believe maybe life has designed her very own "happily ever after".

My Review:
Love by Design is a very sweet, romantic and addictive romance that I found to be an excellent start to a new series. This read is a definite a must for all fans of the genre that enjoy a memorable story.

Callie is a beautiful, intelligent and successful woman that finds herself at a bit of a crossroads in life. Very happy and comfortable in her current job position and loving what she does. She’s approached and given a choice. To stay aboard and work with new owners or take a package deal and leave. Many things help her to make her decision. One being her so called “best friend” (Ashley), opportunities that open up from the change and meeting Justin…

Justin is a very handsome and successful man that has secrets (none harmful) and many decisions to make. They day he meets Callie his life changes, for the better. He is taken by her and wants her like he’s never wanted another. But will his secrets destroy any chance to be with her or will she understand and embrace him the way his heart desires?

I LOVE the two main characters; I love all of the characters actually. But Callie and Justin come through the pages as soul mates. They complement and complete one another perfectly! I look forward to seeing where Elizabeth will go in the next of the series

Kanda Kincade is a curvy cowgirl who believes there's no man...man enough for her. Then, she finds what she calls Pure Prime Rib. Will she have to lasso him to get what she wants?
Follow the women of Flatonia, Texas, who have learned "You have to be as big on the inside as you are on the out."

My Review:
This is book two of the Velvet series and it was even more fun than the first. I was completely surprised at the direction the author took, but I do so LOVE surprises! Oh and a good choice prime rib ;)

We have a few things happening here. We get to see Trevor (oh Yeah!) and Bren from the first in the series and are introduced to Wade (oh hell yeah!) and we get more up close and personal with Trevor’s sister Kanda.

Bren and Trevor are going through a touch of a rough patch. It’s more of a misunderstanding than anything else. But is no less heart breaking. Lucky thing Bren has a mother like Daisy to see her through such times. I have to say, I honestly wonder if the term “Daisy Dukes” came solely due to that woman. She’s a blast!

Kanda meets Wade by accident, literally. She’s dumbfounded by the Aussie stud muffin. For the first time ever, she finds herself at a loss for words, speechless actually. Oh and… wanting!

I look forward to the next in in the series. I was left hanging at the edge over here and wanting to know…everything! Hot Blue Velvet is a great read that any fans of the genre will have a great time with :)

Goodreads Blurb: Sous-chef Pippa Renshaw thinks a change of scene will mend her bruised heart, so she swaps her job in a prestigious London restaurant to head-chef on a cruise ship sailing around New Zealand. A great plan until she meets her new CEO, the delectable Jonathon Eagleton, and discovers she has to share a suite with him.

Even though sparks fly whenever they are together, Jonathon steadfastly keeps her at arm's length, which suits Pippa just fine because she's still getting over the betrayal of the last time she had a relationship with the boss.

The situation is starting to feel like solitary confinement until a thunderstorm traps them in a tramper's hut while hiking. Suddenly a different kind of storm unleashes inside the hut.

But will they be able to go back to their previous status now the line has been crossed?

My Review: A sweet, fun and romantic read with lots of food and a touching romance that many fans of the genre will be sure to enjoy :)

Pippa is starting anew. Her first step is taking a job pretty much on the blind doing something she loves. She’s excited for a new adventure and the escape of the terrible situation/relationship she was in before. The last thing she expects is to meet the perfect man.

Jonathon recently made it to his current position as CEO and has worked very hard to get there. Now he’s cleaning up the mess the previous CEO left and is working on various projects and improvements. As well as “cleaning up” other areas because the former CEO enjoyed sleeping with the new hires. When a new hire comes aboard, he is stricken by her beauty. His first though is “is she capable of the position she’s been hired for or is she one of the former CEO’s playthings?” He sure hopes not because he’s awakened in the most intimate of ways within himself and is finding it very difficult to resists her.

Not many get the chance to meet their soul mate. Pippa and Jonathon are two very lucky ones. They instantly were drawn to one another and are such a perfect match. I would not mind at all seeing more of Pippa and Johnathon and how their lives end up once they are all settled.
