New release--BLOOD DANCE by A.R. Von

New Release!!
Blood Dance cvr.jpg

Title: Blood Dance
Series: The Blood Dance Series
Genre: Erotic/Thriller (18+ read due to, s/v/l/)
Author: A.R. Von
BLURB:Valentine's Day is just not what it seems. Two friends long ago discovered their deep dislike for the lovey dovey holiday, Now they realize it holds much more meaning then frilly hearts, love and chocolates when a party leads them to a bloody fun house and a demon that's been around since the dawn of time...

Sneak peek:
Humans—those delicate beings, which could die with the snap of a neck do not have this knowledge. The dark entities that do know these secrets have kept them within their circles for millennia.
What sort of dark beings are we talking about here? I’m afraid you’ll not be told about any of them here and now, other than one. The one and only entity which is still celebrated cherished and coveted on this planet…this plane.
You see humans as well as other beings have a variety of holidays they celebrate. There are birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Halloween and so many others within all cultures and walks of life on earth. The one you’re to concern yourself with for now, is known to all as the one and only holiday that is full of love, sex, gifts and a ton of history…Valentine’s Day.
There are many stories to how Valentine’s Day started and even who started it. The most popular one is the story of St. Valentine, a priest that married people in secret. Why is that such a big deal? Well, at the time of these occurrences, marriage was banned completely. Long story short, the priest was eventually found out and put to death for doing what he felt was right. All that the priest did was all being done to benefit the soldiers of that time period. It’s a sad story really.
Another story of Valentine’s Day roots that was spread far and wide is of a young man named Valentine. A young man who was in prison for helping persecute Christians. This man fell in love with his jailors blind daughter, and it’s said, he restored her sight. I’m not sure about the order of the two, what I do know is love did not prevail in this tale. He was executed. But before his execution, he sent out a letter to his beloved which he signed ‘Love, your Valentine’.
So many more stories are out there and each holds a very small bit of truth. That’s all except for thee one, the one and only true story of Valentine and its origin. Yes, you read right. Its origin.
You see, Valentine is not a human, a saint, a fae being or an angel. Nothing like any of those delightful, happy ending, good representing beings. No, Valentine was born from darkness, in darkness, lives, breathes, bleeds darkness and releases nothing but darkness, death and destruction.
The truth of it is, Valentine is a demon. A wicked and evil demon who has roamed the earth, right beneath all of our noses for hundreds of life times, a seductress of sexes and taker of lives. A bringer of death, hatred and fornication.
Valentine does not represent love. It—the being—represents death, destruction, horror and finality. There’s nothing positive about Valentine, not to humans and their lives. Not to anything or anyone good and pure.
It can take on any form it wishes, this demon known as Valentine. It can come to you as a male, female, animal, even the freaking Easter bunny if that is what it desired. But that’s beyond the point here.
For over a thousand years, Valentine has had a secret coven, a clan if you wish, in which followers help to make Valentine even stronger by bringing in people to celebrate this false holiday of love. A private party promising good times is usually the hook, line and sinker.
Once the humans get a small taste of the free feeling and sensuality Valentine can give. It then entices the humans by making small promises, laying out various temptations that make humans weak, causing them to cave in to temptation. To give up all that is them, their heart and soul to Valentine and only Valentine.
It’s so easy for the demon to gain followers with the small promises of wealth, a girl, a man desired, long existence, a fantasy come to life, even a dream home or a trip back in time. It all depends on the individual, the follower and their worth to Valentine. What none of them knows is; most of the people who have been brought into this celebration will never come back out, never receive what was promised to them. Those little sheep, those followers are what in truth strengthens Valentine and is what has kept it alive throughout time, death.
Death is what gives it power.
It requires the heart of its victims along with the very soul within the body. Valentine tortures, mutilates, plays with, and then ingests them like it’s nothing and continues to live on and on...
Here’s just one tale, one small story of an instance of Valentine and its following at work. Please do not continue if you dislike kinky sex, gore, violence and moonshine…

~Desolate City Book Blast~

Title: Desolate City
Series Albertos Series
Author: Racquel Jones
Genre: Young Adult Urban Fantasy
Publisher: Self-published
Format: E-book & Paperback
Length: 238 Pages

Synopsis:
After being invited to a party, Seiren never dreamed of being haunted by the Haydens--supernatural beings--of her city. She was supposed to forget about how they watched her every move days before. She was supposed to forget how everything went downhill after meeting a certain white eyed Hayden. But that would be too simple...

Ereshkigal, a group of powerful beings that all Haydens resent, have their sights on Seiren and Haydens from every corner of Black Phoenix will do everything in their power to stop them.

With the help of the gun-toting agent Luann and Hayden guardian Julius, Seiren must figure out her place in all of this and why she is literally running for her life.

Excerpt:
“I need a drink over here!”

Two hours had gone by and the urge to run drove her up the wall. It was one of The Soul Reaper’s busy nights and it made her mood no better. Haydens were laughing loudly, clashing glasses and literally breaking them. Dimmed lighting with a smoky haze flowed around every table.

Monkey faced Haydens cackled in their corner, while the fairies—sweet smelling and graceful—sung soothing songs and swayed to their own beat. The poisonous Haydens poked at one another in their game of ‘whoever turns a different color and dies, wins’.

The lone ones sat at the bar mumbling to themselves in a foreign tongue. Seiren figured that what they spoke was one of Haydoria’s many languages she heard over the years. Either way, she made sure she wasn’t the one to serve them.

One had rows upon rows of jagged dirt-caked teeth, too big to fit in his mouth. Around his mouth, the skin was stretched and torn, yet no blood poured from the wounds. The skin had white fuzz in patches. How a mouth like that could even mutter words was beyond her. The sight of it speaking was sickening.

She sneaked a peek at another lone one at the right side of the bar. It puffed black smoke in small pants as its chest heaved harshly. One of its eyes was missing, the socket oozing a greenish substance. Its skin, pale and covered in pink warts, sizzled in the light and gave off fumes that smelled of rotten eggs.

He wasn’t the worst of them, though. The one at the very end of the bar had toothless mouths sucking in air like a dying fish and blistered eyeballs all over his body following everyone’s movements. The wheezing noise easing out of his mouth probably meant a lot of words to another Hayden, but to Seiren it meant stay away.

“Hey, waitress! How ‘bout some service?”

“Coming,” Seiren mumbled, breaking her attention away from the bar.

Her dream was to one day leave Black Phoenix. The city was so unorganized when the Haydens were involved. Everyone had their set group, but with all of them mixed with one another, she couldn’t even tell what was what anymore. And that bothered Seiren. She couldn’t even tell the difference between the snake and crocodile Haydens after a while.

“Here’s your beer, sir,” she forced out glumly. “Will that be all?”

Bug eyed and drooling, the devil look alike scanned her body. “No, it won’t,” it said, nudging its crusty friend. “I think I’ll have you next, baby.”

Slowly blinking, she struggled to keep the vomit from rising in her throat. Relax. Just relax. Scum will always be scum, she thought. “Nothing else? Call me if you need anything.”

Not giving it or him a chance to be disgusting for a second time, she walked behind the bar and slid to the floor with a pained moan. The peanut shells from the bar pressed into the bare palms of her hands. It wasn’t enough that she had to work with them. The horrible flirts and jokes had to come with the job at some point. It had to be endured for the sake of earning her keep and her very expensive ticket to freedom. Any ticket, rather it be by boat or train, was well worth over a few thousands.

She massaged her temples. It annoyed her that the rich had all the resources in the world to leave, but they would rather stay for some unknown reason. If she had more money than she could hold in two hands, she would have been on a plane a long time ago.

“I don’t pay you to sit on your butt, Seiren.”

Kat, her boss, worked behind the bar serving drink after drink. The short woman had crow’s feet by her eyes and an uneven bob. Kat came off as a bitter old woman to most, but was nice enough to risk giving a job to an underage girl.

“You’ll actually pay me to sit on the floor?” Kat gave her a sullen look while Seiren slowly wiped the peanut shells from her hands. “I know. Just feeling a little drained.” Over the bar, she could hear another glass shattering.

“You? Wonder Woman? No, that’s a lie,” Kat stopped momentarily to spare her a look. “Been overworking yourself?”

What’s with the superhero names? “Well, you know me. Won’t stop till I drop.”

Kat shrugged. “You’re one of my best workers. We can’t have you dropping now.”

“Yeah. Seriously, I feel crappy.”

“Suck it up then, Seiren. We got a busy night and you’re slacking. And let me remind you, I’m not tolerating any violence tonight.”

Seiren’s lips twitched upward. She punched a scrawny long arm thing once for feeling her up. “I was put on earth to beat on the scumbags. I can’t hide my gifts, Kat.” Oh, the memories of that Hayden’s broken nose.

“Then I guess you’re willing to get fired?” Kat asked sliding a shot glass down to a ghoulish looking fellow. “Not tonight, you got it? Last time, you started a riot. You should have been gone right then.”

“Sure, sure, I got it. But I’m telling you. I’m not making any promises.”

If only she could run for two minutes. Only two minutes and her night would be refreshed. Maybe then she would be able to keep that promise. The wind blowing through her curls when soaring from rooftop to rooftop seemed so far away.

“Seiren, I mean it,” Kat said through her teeth, slamming a bottle of whiskey. “As a matter of fact, make yourself useful and take the trash out. Maybe some fresh air will do you some good.”

At first a protest built itself up in the pit of her stomach. That was not the type of fresh air she was thinking of. However, a Hayden looked over the bar, clear teeth chattering with a snotty nose. She shook her head with a sigh and stood up.

“You know what, you’re right. I’ll do that.”

“Yes, please do,” Kat answered as she turned to the chatter teeth customer. “What’ll it be, hon?”

Goodreads Blurb: In her last month of pregnancy, Diana, Viscountess DeVere, has barely settled into her new life and role as "the devil" DeVere's wife, when her increasingly restlesss husband receives an urgent summons to London. When Diana inadvertently discovers a message he received from a known courtesan with whom he was formerly linked, she fears her marriage is over before it has begun.

My Review: Another great addition to The Devil DeVere series. Even though short, it is very satisfying and this one gave us an incredible and wonderful insight on where Diana and DeVere now stand. An enjoyable addition to add for any fans of the genre reading collection. I do however recommend reading ALL before this one of the series so you will have the true appreciation for how far the characters have come.

DeVere is HOT! I’ve loved him from the very start, faults and all. This man is just… insane, funny, fun and he has an incredible mind! His character has grown, matured and it is a wonderful thing to have experienced his transitioning into an even more incredibly desirable male.

Diana has mellowed out, a lot. She’s currently pregnant with her and DeVere’s first child and is going through the phases of pregnancy, feeling unattractive and unloved. Little does she know the real reasoning behind the lack of usual attention is formed by nothing by true love and devotion…

I love these two together and it makes me happy to see them still incredibly blissful and to have such a blessing that they received in this installment. Are we going to get any more Victoria? I know I want another one, or two :)

Book Spotlight & Giveaway Lace & Leather by Leanore Elliot

An Erotic Paranormal Western

HOT EXCERPT:
Jess slid her nude body along his jeans and further up, gradually rubbing her bare skin over him as if she were a wet towel. Her nipples were tingling from the buttons on his shirt.
By the time he raised her belly to his face, Lacey gulped as she indeed became a moist shivering mess. She was constantly surprised by his sheer physical strength; his raising and holding her in the air seemed just a normal feat to him.
Jess used his tongue to trace a path up her silky folds and back down.
The feeling was like a blazing brush stroke of pure euphoria as she helplessly whimpered.
Raising his head, he quietly looked at her while that magnificent smile of his slowly appeared and spread out on his face.
The affect of this smiling sexiness to her already pounding heart was immediate and inescapable. Oh… Lacey almost huffed the thought aloud.
Jess dipped his head again and breathed a searing stream of warm air onto her tender skin as his mouth rested at her open thighs. “Open yourself to me.”
Slowly and with shaking hands, Lacey reached down and placed her fingers on either side of her folds, opening herself to his mouth. Her hands shook as she revealed herself to his eyes and lips while her soul seemed quietly bared to this savage cowboy as well. The vulnerable sensation of the act was exhilarating and completely terrifying at the same time.
The sky blue in his eyes darkened to simmering cobalt as he stared at her exposed skin. He raised his head and looked at her shivering body. “I will make you scream—again.”
She fought to hold her quivering body still and knew without a doubt or any pretense at self-delusion that she would ultimately and most certainly—scream.

TOO SEXY FOR HIS HORSE:
I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy…so sexy it hurts…sooo sexy…Yeah. The song kept going. Too sexy for my car…too sexy…
“What in Glory's heaven is that awful screeching sound?”Jess stood up, towering over her. His bare muscled body, stretching out above Lacey, as she knelt on the ground.
Slowly, Lacey gazed up at her magnificent savage cowboy while the colored light streamed across his sleek bare skin. “I think it's now and forever—your song, cowboy.” She let out a giggle.
Jess let out a loud whistle and his horse was there almost instantly.
A repeated chortle came from Lacey.
Extending his body out, he leaned over and grasped his horses bridle, grabbing the reins. “What is so darned funny, Lace?” He tucked the tether in with the other leads.
“Nothing,” she called from behind him. “I just never knew what that song meant until now!”
Jess shook his head with annoyance, and hefted his nude body up, mounting the horse.
Lacey openly gaped up at her nude cowboy, sitting astride the steed. “Uh, Jess, won't it hurt if you ride like that?”
“Like what?”
A few silent seconds went by, and then peals of feminine laughter came from behind him.
Jess rolled his eyes as he moved the horses forward. “God Dammit, woman, would you shut the hell up!”
“Okay, okay!” Lacey answered in a laughter-strained voice.
“Now, follow my lead. I don't wanna lose you in the dark. And don't move your eyes from me, ya hear?” Jess maneuvered his horse ahead of hers.
“Oh, don't worry, sweet cowboy. There's no way in heaven or hell I could possibly look away!” She burst out with a splutter of hilarious laughter again.

Review Blood Betrayed (Sons of Navarus series #2) By Gabrielle Bisset

Goodreads Blurb:
I am everything forbidden. I am a haunted creature.
I am darkness and shadow.
I am vampire.

I am everything forbidden. I am vampire.

Haunted by betrayal, Saint hides in the human world, giving his heart to no one and finding the only solace from his past in the arms of human women. Now as the Archons begin their takeover of the vampire world, this Son of Navarus has been marked for death.

Summoned to defeat the Archons by the world that shunned him, Saint must face his past and Solenne, the woman he loved and lost a century ago, for only in accepting her will his body and soul finally find salvation.

My Review: This is the second book in the Sons of Navarus series (third if you include Vampire Dreams Revamped) and I’m still fully enjoying the series. Gabrielle is keeping the series going strong; packed full of action, surprises, hot alpha vampires, romance and hot sex that make for a great read for any fan of the genre.

Saint is a hottie of an alpha vampire that has been shunned, forced to live among humans and away from his kind for years. He’s lived his years taking only human blood and human woman to his bed, none of his kind, ever again. His heart is held by the one and only vampire he’s ever touched and will never have again. But when danger forces her back into his life, he has no choice but to face her and their past; a past that haunts him to no end.

Solenne is a beautiful, loving and loyal female vampire that will do anything for those she loves. Sired by Teagan (Saints brother), and alone due to his passing. She agrees to help the Sons save Saint from an undue fate. It hurts her deeply to see him again, but still, she’d do anything in her power to keep him safe; even if it means sacrificing parts of herself.

This is my favorite of the series so far. Love the history, chemistry and story between Saint and Solenne. Both have learned a lot from what they’ve been through and neither will let the past determine their fated future. More please :)

Goodreads Blurb:
The Sons of Navarus series continues...

I am everything you seek. I am vampire.

Blessed with the gift of telepathy, Terek always knows what a woman wants. His gift has afforded him nightly sensual pleasures and exotic treats for centuries, but beneath the surface he yearns for much more.

Ilona can give him what his soul craves, but only if he trusts his heart. One fateful choice made out of desire puts all he cares for in danger. With a civil war and the threat of Archon hunters at every turn, this Son may lose everything if he can't find the balance between heart and mind.

My Review: Gabrielle has kept the series very strong going and full of surprises from our Sons of Navarus. Once again we learn even more about the Sons, with book 3 we now have an even clearer picture of their purpose and the why of their numbers. A definite great addition to any fans of paranormal romance to add on to their TBR piles and read ASAP :)

Oh Terek (sigh), such a dreamy vampire that would make any woman down on her knees just to give him the pleasure he deserves. He holds up a very strong front, but has suffered great loss in his past. It still affects him to this day, but he continues to bring happiness to others and save those in need that he can assist. He loves, but not in the way one with a heart of his caliber should. Feeling something new within him, a happiness he’s not remembered ever experiencing during his life as a vampire, he wonders what the mystery is behind the female beauty named Ilona.

Ilona is in one of those situations of being in “the wrong place at the wrong time” or the reverse, all depending how you look at it. She has a good human life, she has a job, she lives with family she loves and they love her back. Viciously attacked by a vampire while on her way home from a party, she must now face a new life; one without her family and in a strange new situation that she is having a very hard time accepting. She knows nothing of how to be other than what and who she is. The only thing she is sure of at this point is the pull, the strong attraction she has to Terek.

I feel each and every book of the series can be read as a stand-alone without the reader being lost or confused. But I truly recommend reading the series in full and in order so you can get the full effect of what the author has created for us all to enjoy.

Goodreads Blurb: Expanded from the original, Vampire Dreams Revamped is bigger, longer, and hotter. Revisit the world of Brandon, Arden, and Vasilije and meet new characters too!

A vampire for hundreds of years, Brandon Ridley is surrounded by others of his kind who enjoy their world to the fullest. Orgies, debauchery, and sensual delights leave him empty, though. What he wants is that one woman who will share his life.

Homeless and without any family, Arden Stephens must live on the streets of mid 19th century London, never a safe place for a young woman. One night, as she is running for her life from an attacker, she is rescued by Brandon and offered a place in his home as his maid. Brandon is enchanted by Arden from the moment they meet and yearns to make her one of his kind.

Nightly, he visits her in her sleep, preparing her for the night he will finally make her his own. For Arden, the wanton dreams she has about her handsome employer seduce her and each day when she wakes up, she finds herself more drawn to him. But love and desire aren't enough for Brandon to sire her. He must first obtain the approval of his own sire, an ancient vampire named Vasilije who has thwarted his chance for happiness before.

But if Brandon can convince him, he may finally find the love he's been without for centuries.

My Review: A short and satisfying read that’s a great start to the Sons of Navarus series; it definitely had me wanting more! I loved the vibe Vasilije (love that vamp) threw off and his lifestyle, so very carefree. A different type of romance that will haunt your dreams and a must read for any paranormal romance fan.

Brandon is a different type of vampire then we are used to. He actually comes off more human than vampire right from the start (which is not a bad thing at all), even though he has vampire powers. He’s handsome, has a huge heart and knows what he desires to have for the rest of his eternal life and refuses to stoop to the level his fellow vampire comrades do. He mostly stays to himself and is not so free giving with his body. (He’s still a total hottie and I enjoy his ways.)

Arden recently lost her father and has been homeless ever since. Running away from a male that wants to do lord knows what with her, she runs straight into an unknown place and right into the arms of Brandon. Brandon offers his help to her and gives it in a rather… creative way, then offers her a job with him as a maid. From there things change for both of them in the most delightful ways imaginable :)

This can be read and enjoyed whether you are reading it as a stand-alone, in between books or after you enjoyed the other books in the Sons of Navarus series. I CANNOT wait for more!
