Goodreads Blurb:
Because she trusted him the fate of the world is in her hands…

Icon of the United States of America, New York is Cara’s city—until one sunny afternoon when she wakes up in a beautiful meadow. Light clouds float in the blue sky, a mild breeze dances in the branches of a maple tree and the air smells of freshness. But New York has disappeared.

When Cara opens her eyes, she finds a complete stranger standing too close for comfort and he seems to know all about her. If she wants to find her way back home she must stay with him. Obnoxious as he appears, she has to turn to him for protection when confronted with enemies she never knew she had.

These enemies know of an ancient prophecy. They believe Cara is the only one who can change it and they will do anything to stop her.

As Cara tries to outwit and outrun them, her heart starts to beat for the stranger. Only to discover that his heart is dead.

My Review:
I love when you can truly escape into the pages of a book! To this day I’ve been able to do so with each of Chris Lange’s work, no matter how long or how short. So fun, vivid, exciting, mysterious, surprising and always a great HEA! A definite must read for all fans of the genre :)

Cara awakens one day in a strange place. Doing something very…strange and next to a complete stranger. Realizing she’s no longer in New York, stunned she doesn’t know who she is or where. So freaks a bit. Can this mysterious (and very handsome) stranger really help her figure it all out and who is HE?

Death has secrets, a ton of them! He also has never felt even a thread of what he currently feels since he found this lovely woman. He has many questions for her and himself. Can he trust her and who is she really?

I love the fact Chris mentioned one of the stories from a previous favorite of mine (Blind to Men) within the pages of Blade Heart. She also had appearances from my favorite fantastical being ever, dragons!
My only complaint is the ending. It seemed to cut off. Maybe there’s going to be a book 2? I sure hope so! I’d love to see what’s to become of Death and Cara.

EXCERPT ( chapter one ):

She never saw him coming. Liv was opening the trunk of her car when a rough hand grabbed her throat and squeezed. Her heart stuttered wildly, and her lungs cried for air. The hand tightened its grip, just enough to control her, to let her know she couldn’t escape. The parking lot looked deserted. At this time of night, even late shoppers had already gone home. There was no one to help her.
She tried to breathe, tried not to panic. Little dots danced before her eyes. A sudden wave of blackness threatened to engulf her. She fought it. But the hand felt strong, very strong. Suddenly weak, unable to think, Liv dropped her bag. It clattered noisily on the concrete, the only sound in the vast silence of the parking lot. Then…he smelt her. Definitely smelt her.
As suddenly as she had been attacked, she was free. She inhaled deeply, sweet air, blissful air invading her empty lungs. She made ragged sounds, her throat burning, her knees so wobbly that she had to lean on the car to ease off the tension. Silly as it sounded, she felt as weak as a freshly-out-of-the-womb kitten. What had just happened? Had he really smelt her?
“Go!”
His voice startled her—only one word, barely whispered, but an order nonetheless. He had assaulted her, out of nowhere. Now he wanted her to leave. The whole scene felt totally surreal.
“Go before he sees you!”
“Who?”
“Some questions are better not answered.”
He spoke in a low tone as though he didn’t want to be heard. Liv turned around as fast as her still-spinning head would allow her. He stood well away from her, dark, tall, dangerous, his gaze fixed on her. The most attractive man she had ever seen. He had just attempted to strangle her but, looking at him, all she wanted to do was run her fingers through his thick black hair, and touch the hard lines of his face.
Her granddad’s favourite curse sprang to mind, as was the case every time she felt troubled or threatened. Holy mackerel, what was wrong with her today? She should already be driving away yet shock seemed to slow her down to the speed of a sleepy hedgehog. Shock or curiosity? Latching onto the mental image of Gramps, she stared at her handsome, disturbing attacker.
“You can’t jump on people like that. What do you want?”
She carefully touched her neck, the tender spot right below the chin. Despite her fear and bafflement, Liv couldn’t help gaping at him. Who was this man? What did he want to do with her? Rape her? Kill her? If so, he wasn’t being very efficient. Why had he changed his mind? Because he had smelt her skin? That made no sense. No sense at all.
“Look, I don’t know…”
“Be quiet!”
He had issued an order again, and, in spite of his scary tone, she didn’t like it one bit. They faced each other, her still wobbly on her legs, him as hard as iron. She decided not to be impressed by his unnatural gaze and stance, and took a step towards him.
“Stay away from me!” He didn’t move a muscle, didn’t raise his voice. A gust of wind crossed the parking lot, and his long, black leather coat billowed. A dog’s distant howl broke the silence, the sinister sound suggesting loneliness. Liv felt hit by an unexpected lick of desire as she watched the mysterious stranger—a gentle hardening in her stomach, a soft tickle between her thighs.
Although night had settled in, she easily made out his rough features, the strong line of his jaws, the curve of his sensual lips. What could those lips do to her? Slide along her bare skin? Caress her mouth with longing? Kiss the gentle throbbing between her thighs?
Holy mackerel, what was she thinking? She had to quit daydreaming right this instant. For all she knew the man might be the next Jack the Ripper so she’d better stop drooling over him. Yes, good decision.
Maybe she spent too much time in front of the television, but he looked so like a dark knight from past ages, a guardian from a world beyond. Intent on clarifying the situation, Liv took another step.
“I told you to stay away from me!”
There it was again. Did she detect a hint of wariness in his tone this time?
Palms up, she met his gaze. “Why?”
“Because you are the death of me.”

My Review: HOT! This is the type of read that is so intensely sensual it gives you tingles in all of the right places. So intense, mysterious and shocking that you’ll find it very hard to put down (I read it in one sitting) and even harder to stop thinking about when you reach the end. It still lingers in my mind and it’s been weeks since I read it! A definite TBR MUST for any fans of the genre!

Liv is real. What I mean by that is she is a character that we all can relate with. She shows strength, weakness, just as any normal everyday person would. She’s beautiful and very accepting of all she’s discovered. She lived a pretty normal life, that’s until she meets Rogan and is introduced in to a whole new world and a fab hot tub…

Rogan is an amazingly hot alpha vampire that is one of the most drool worthy specimen I’ve met in quite some time. There’s much many know about him and there’s much many do not. Getting to know him was sure a lot of fun! He’s full of sensual surprises and a protective streak that many crave to have as their own. I want my very own Rogan to protect me :)

Chris Lange writes in a way that teases and tantalizes the imagination. She creates very lovable characters, realistic and vivid descriptions, all which allow for the very best picture to form in your mind. I LOVED the chemistry and build between the two main characters and am very happy with the way everything turned out in the end. Now, my question is… Are there any plans for more? A Touch Too Much part deuce maybe? I’d get it and gobble it up in a blink ;)

Interview with Chris Lange

A.R. Von: Hello Chris and welcome to DreamZ of Dragons! Ready for a fun drilling?
Chris: Totally ready *she says while staring at the first question and thinking “Oh, my god, what is she going to ask me?* Thank you for receiving me, Ava.
A.R. Von: *Winks and laughs wickedly* wahahahaha…

A.R. Von: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?
Chris: New Zealand to visit the places where “The Lord of the Rings” was shot. Maybe I’d run into Aragorn and he’d sweep me off my feet. But not on his horse, I’d be too scared.
A.R. Von: Umm, would you mind packing ME in your suitcase?  Pretty please J

A.R. Von: Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
Chris: I don’t open the door when someone knocks.
A.R. Von: ROTF

A.R. Von: If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
Chris: It would be a sci-fi/fantasy movie where the main character jumps from world to world. She’d live in her head and dreams most of the time, but isn’t it what the best part of life is made of?

A.R. Von: If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be? (Example: Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, And live every day as if it were your last!.)
Chris: Let your dreams come true. I insist on the word “let” instead of “make”. Beauty and talent are in each of us, but I find we don’t always allow ourselves to let it shine and blossom. I didn’t for a long time.
A.R. Von: That’s beautiful Chris!

A.R. Von: If you were a genie, what wish would you absolutely not grant?
Chris: Immortality. The most powerful moments are unforgettable because they end.
A.R. Von: Excellent point!

A.R. Von: If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
Chris: The girl who didn’t want to be real.
A.R. Von:
I think I get it. You want to live in your amazingly creative mind 24/7- 8 days a week.

A.R. Von: Tea or coffee?
Chris: Coffee. All day long.

A.R. Von: Do you have a pet?
Chris: No, but I have a ghost. I even gave him a name.

A.R. Von: Describe your ideal romantic date.
Chris: The night is only lit by a sliver of moon as the rain engulfs darkness. He pins me to the wall. Although tears of water slide down my skin all I feel is the power in his hands, all I see is the craving in his eyes. And when he leans towards me I stop breathing.
A.R. Von: WOW! Definitely better than a candle lit dinner for 2 at some stuffy restaurant  ;)

A.R. Von: If you were a spy what would your alias be?
Chris: Chris Lange. Are you scared now?

A.R. Von: LOL- Maybe…

A.R. Von: If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?
Chris: Spy on a certain man I will not name. I’d love, love, love to see him in the shower.

A.R. Von: You were bitten by a vampire (Or werewolf), now what?
Chris: Now I ran to Angel to live my immortal life with him. Trust me, he’ll soon forget Buffy!
A.R. Von: Of that I have no doubt!

A.R. Von: Why am I asking you these questions?
Chris: Because you love torturing me
J
A.R. Von: Indeed I do!

A.R. Von: What is something you cannot live without?
Chris: Reading, writing and watching TV series. I can’t spend a day without my favorite characters, but I can write down a list if you want. It’s going to be a long list though…

A.R. Von: I recently read A Touch Too Much and absolutely LOVED IT! You create some amazingly HOT hero’s and admirable heroine’s and I find myself curious to know…  What is your next project?
Chris: I thought you were going to ask me if I am the admirable heroine… LOL
I’ve just finished a fantasy super novel. My editors loved it so I guess you’ll be able to read it sometime this year.
I’m not sure about my next project. I have ideas for a new stand alone novel but I’ve been asked by fans to stay a little longer with A TOUCH TOO MUCH and to write a follow-up. I am definitely tempted!
A.R. Von: Both sound fantastic! I’m looking forward to getting my eyes on them  J

A.R. Von: Thank you so much for tolerating my questions. I hope you’ll come back for a visit with us again soon. This was fun!
Chris: Awesome questions, Ava! I’ll be back anytime, and thank you for enjoying my stories so much. I hope to write many more
